It was exciting to see so many of you and to consider together some of the great reasons to head to Israel on February 15th 2011. For those of you who are from out of town or who simply couldn’t attend the meeting, this communication should help to update you.

Included here is a recommended reading list as well as an update on payments and deadlines.

I will keep you posted through emails and through this blog.

Please do not conclude that an infrequency of updates means we are not going. We are going and you will get updates as they are necessary.

I am VERY excited about the trip and am eagerly anticipating how the Lord will use it in our lives!

Shalom!

Pat

Israel Reading Preparation
The most important thing to read in preparation for a trip to Israel is your Bible. Second, is becoming more familiar with your Bible’s maps. This will help you to understand the geographical aspects of the tour. After that, I have found it helpful to read something about Israel that is more about modern Israel such as “The Fight for Jerusalem” by Dore Gold. This is not necessary by any means, but may be helpful in understanding the modern state better. For more on the lands of the Bible, “The Moody Atlas of Bible Lands by Beitzel is helpful. If you want to be an overachiever, you may find “Jerusalem in the Time of Jesus” by Jeremias interesting. It is on my reading list for this trip.

Update on Payments and Deadlines
$3300 remains the estimated total (not including lunches and tips). We will have a more definite number once the airfares are available to Pilgrim Tours. We will communicate this to you once we are informed.

$300.00 per person deposit with completed reservation form is due 90 days prior to departure or whenever the air carrier commitment date is (October 2010).

$400.00-$500.00 is the estimated amount for the Egypt extension. Details will be solidified as flight amounts are available.

Final payment due 60 days prior to departure (Early December 2010).
